Where did all that love go?
Today, I logged onto my social media account and saw a ‘suggested friend.’ I looked at the photo, and saw a little boy who looked exactly like the little boy I used to babysit when I was a young girl. This was his son. It made me take pause, at first, and then a thought occurred to me.
I have lived many years, and loved many. I have cared for those who needed it, and showed up when I was called. I thought, from a spiritual perspective, watching all of that beautiful love pouring forth from my soul, ‘where did all that love go?’
I heard a familiar voice from Spirit say, very matter of factly, “Love is not a possession.” He went on to explain, as is His Way:
“Love is a living thing. It is not something you keep in a drawer. You can’t hold it, and you can’t put it away to enjoy at a later time. In order to grow, Love must be nurtured, watered and fed. It cannot be taken for granted. It cannot be controlled. Love is not a possession.”
I don’t know who needs to see these words today, but I know I had to share them. So many of us have a distorted view of love. We have been taught so many different things that are ‘do’s and don’ts’ according to those who have become ‘internet authority figures,’ who have no more an idea of what is true than those who are seeking the truth. Human beings can only know the truth when we give up the pursuit of trying to own it, as if we are the supreme authority figures of all there is– when the truth is, ‘all that is’ was here long before any of us.
It’s time to recognize that we are all capable of great things, and terrible things. The only difference is in our choices.
Choose to feed and water Love. Choose to step away from that which causes harm. Choose what makes life grow. Choose to step away from chaos and disorder. Know there is an actual Truth, that needs not defending, nor earthly proof. The truth is known to us, not by evidence nor any logical manner, as it cannot be fully understood at the level of the frequency of the mind. It is known deep within, in our Spirit. Go within and ‘Know.’
